تین بچوں کے سوا گود میں اور کسی نے بات نہیں کی

حضرت جریح رحمہ اللہ

بنو اسرائیل میں ایک بہت بڑا راہب یعنی صوفی گزرا ہے ۔اس کا نام جریح تھا۔
اللہ کے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے منقول اس کا واقعہ بخاری و مسلم میں آتا ہے۔۔۔
اس واقعہ کے مطابق بنو اسرائیل کے ایک نیک صوفی نے بستی سے باہر ایک حجرہ بنا رکھا تھا۔ اس میں وہ اللہ کی عبادت میں ہمہ وقت مشغول رہتا۔
ایک دن اس کی والدہ اس سے ملنے کے لیے آئی اور باہر سے بیٹے کو آواز دی ۔
بیٹا نماز پڑھ رہا تھا ۔جریح رحمہ اللہ نے دل میں کہا کہ والدہ کا جواب دوں یا نماز پڑھتا رہوں؟
اور پھر وہ نماز میں مشغول رہے۔۔۔
دوسرے دن پھر ان کی والدہ ملنے کے لیے آئی تو اب بھی جریح رحمہ اللہ نماز پڑھ رہے تھے
ماں نے آواز دی اور بیٹا دل میں کہنے لگا کہ اے اللہ وہ میری ماں ہے جو آواز دے رہی ہے اور یہ میری نماز اب کیا کروں ؟
اور پھر وہ نماز پڑھتا رہا اور ماں انتطار کر کے آخرکار چلی گئی

تیسرے دن ماں پھر آئی اتفاق سے جریح رحمہ اللہ نماز پڑھ رہا تھا۔۔۔
اس پر ماں کو غصہ آیا اور بددعا دینے لگی
اس نے کہا
اے اللہ اس صوفی کو اس وقت تک موت نہ آئے جب تک یہ بدکار عورت کا چہرہ نہ دیکھ لے
ماں کی دعا اللہ کے دربار قبول ہوگئی۔۔۔ماں نےغصہ میں آکر بدعا دی ۳ بار ملنے آئی مگر بیٹے نے ملاقات نہیں کی لہذا ماں کے منہ سے بدعا نکل گئی
اب یہ ہوا کہ
بنواسرائیل کہ جن کہ اندر جریح رحمہ اللہ کی عبادت،ریاضت، اور ذکر الہی کی شہرت تھی اور ان کے اندر جریح رحمہ اللہ کا ذکر وتذکرہ چلتا رہتا تھا۔۔۔۔۔انہی کے ایک گروہ مین ایک بدکار عورت آئی جو بڑی حسین تھی اور اس کا حسن بھی معروف و مشہور تھا۔
وہ کہنے لگی تم جریح رحمہ اللہ کی بڑی باتیں کرتے ہو اگر وہ مجھے دیکھ لے تو سب کچھ بھول کر میرا ہوجائے اور اگر تم تجربہ کرنا چاہتے ہو تو میں تم سب کو دکھا سکتی ہو کیسے وہ میرے حسن کا قیدی بنتا ہے۔۔۔۔
اور وہ بدرکار عورت جریح رحمہ اللہ کے پاس گئی اور اس کے سامنے جاکر ناز نخرے دکھلانے لگی۔۔ اپنے حسن کی کمندیں اس پر ڈالنے لگی مگر جریح رحمہ اللہ نے اس سے انکار کردیا اور اسے فتنے سے محفوظ رہے۔

جریح رحمہ اللہ فتنے سے تو بچ گئے مگر ماں کی بددعا قبول ہوگئ جو مانگی تھی تو ایک بدکار عورت کا چہرہ دیکھے جو جریح رحمہ اللہ کو دیکھنا پڑ گیا۔

اس پر بس نہیں
اس بدکردار عورت کیساتھ جو جریح رحمہ اللہ نے کیا اس نے اپنی انا کا مسئلہ بنا لیا اور اپنی توہیں سمجھی اپنے آپ کو بے عزت ہوتے محسوس کیا لہذا جھّوٹی اور ایک اور شیطانی شازش جریح رحمہ اللہ کے خلاف کرنے لگی
بکریوں کا ایک چرواہا جو جریح رحمہ اللہ کے پاس آیا کرتا تھا یہ عورت اس چرواہے کے پاس چلی گئی اور وہ بکریاں چرا رہا تھا۔۔ جنگل میں اکیلا تھا اس شیطانی عورت نے اس کو پھنسایا اور اس کو بدرکاری پر مجبور کیا۔۔دنوں پر دن گزرتے تھے ہفتون پر مہینے آخر اس کنواری بدرکارہ ہے ہاں ایک لڑکے کی پیدائش ہوتی ہے۔۔۔۔
اس کی قوم نے پوچھا :
یہ کہاں سے اور کس کا ہے ؟
اس عورت نے کہا
یہ جریح رحمہ اللہ کا ہے
اب اس کی قوم کے لوگ آگے بڑھے ان کا جم غفیر جریح رحمہ اللہ کے گھر کی طرف چل پڑا ان کا گھر اونچی جگہ پر واقع تھا
لوگوں نے اس پر دھاوا بول دیا
ان نے گھر کو گرا دیا اور جریح رحمہ اللہ کو مارتے پیٹتے نیچے لے آئے
اور طرح طرح کی باتیں کرنے لگ گئے
دیکھو یہ ہے صوفی اور اس کے کام دیکھو
ان کا غصہ جب تھوڑا ٹھنڈا ہوا جریح رحمہ اللہ نے پوچھا 
مجھے یہ بتلاو کہ میرا جرم کیا ہے؟
جس کی وجہ سے تم لوگوں نے میرے گھر کو گرا دیا اور مجھے مار مار کر میرا برا حال کردیا ہے۔۔۔۔۔۔
انھوں نے کہا
تونے فلاں حیسنہ سے بدرکاری نہیں کی؟
اس کے ہاں تیرا بچہ بھی پیدا ہوگیا ہے 
جریح رحمہ اللہ نے کہا:
مجھے اس کے پاس لے چلو
وہاں پہنچے تو جریح رحمہ اللہ نے کہا
مجھے تھوڑی مہلت دو میں نماز پڑھ لوں
انھوں نے مہلت دے دی
اب سارے لوگ دیکھ رہے ہیں
جریح رحمہ اللہ نے وضو کیا پھر نماز پڑھی اس کے بعد پلٹ کر بچے کی طرف آئے
بچہ جو ماں کی گود میں تھا اب پھر جریح جریح رحمہ اللہ کو بدکار عورت کا چہرہ دیکھنا پڑا۔۔۔۔وہ واپس آئے
بچے کے پیٹ پر کچوکا لگایا اور بچے سے مخاطب ہو کر کہا
تیرا باپ کون ہے؟
بچہ بول پڑا اور کہنے لگا
فلاں چرواہا میرا باپ پے

بس بچے کا بولنا تھا لوگ جریح رحمہ اللہ پر محبت اور عقیدت سے ٹوٹ پڑے ،،،،اب لوگ جریح رحمہ اللہ سے معافیاں مانگ رہے ہیں اور کہنے لگے ہم کو معاف کردیجئیے ہم سے غلطی ہوگئی ہم آپ کے گھر کو سونے کا بنادیں گے ہم کو معاف کردیں
جناب جریح رحمہ اللہ نے کہا
سونے کا نہیں چاہیے مٹی کاہی بنادو جیسا تھا بس ویسا ہی بنادو۔۔۔۔

سبق آموز پہلو
سبق یہ ملا کہ جریح رحمہ اللہ بے شک بڑا نیک اور عبادت گزار تھا مگر اس نے بحیثیت ایک بیٹے کا جو حق ادا نہ کیا اللہ نے اسے اس کی سزا دی اور اسے باور کرایا کہ میں تیری عبادت سے تب ہو خوش ہوں گا جب تو حق والوں کا بھی حق ادا کرے گا تجھے نہیں بھولنا چاہیے تو کسی کا بیٹا ہے ۔۔۔مامتا کا جذبہ میں نے ہی پیدا کیا ہے لہذا اس جذبے کو کچل کر چاہے میرا محبوب بن جائے تو یہ مشکل ہے
تو بےشک میرا پیارا بندہ ہے مگر تیری ماں کی برحق فریاد کو سننا بھی میری ذمہ داری ہے یہ تو جریح رحمہ اللہ کی قسمت اچھی تھی ماں کے منہ سے صرف اتنا ہی تکلا تو بدکار عورت کا چہرہ نا دیکھے تجھے موت نا آئے اگر وہ کچھ اور بول دیتی۔۔۔۔۔تو پھر کیا بنتا لہذا ماں بہت بڑی ولیہ ہے ماں کی
خدمت ایسے کرنی چائیے کہ اس کی دعائیں لی جائیں نا کہ بدعائیں اور والدین راضی ہو جائیں۔
~ماخوذ مومن عورتوں کی کرامات

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "None spoke in cradle but three: (The first was) Jesus, (the second was), there a man from Bani Israel called Juraij. While he was offering his prayers, his mother came and called him. He said (to himself), 'Shall I answer her or keep on praying?" (He went on praying) and did not answer her, his mother said, "O Allah! Do not let him die till he sees the faces of prostitutes." So while he was in his hermitage, a lady came and sought to seduce him, but he refused. So she went to a shepherd and presented herself to him to commit illegal sexual intercourse with her and then later she gave birth to a child and claimed that it belonged to Juraij. The people, therefore, came to him and dismantled his hermitage and expelled him out of it and abused him. Juraij performed the ablution and offered prayer, and then came to the child and said, 'O child! Who is your father?' The child replied, 'The shepherd.' (After hearing this) the people said, 'We shall rebuild your hermitage of gold,' but he said, 'No, of nothing but mud.'(The third was the hero of the following story) A lady from Bani Israel was nursing her child at her breast when a handsome rider passed by her. She said, 'O Allah ! Make my child like him.' On that the child left her breast, and facing the rider said, 'O Allah! Do not make me like him.' The child then started to suck her breast again. (Abu Huraira further said, "As if I were now looking at the Prophet (ﷺ) sucking his finger (in way of demonstration.") After a while the people passed by, with a lady slave and she (i.e. the child's mother) said, 'O Allah! Do not make my child like this (slave girl)!, On that the child left her breast and said, 'O Allah! Make me like her.' When she asked why, the child replied, 'The rider is one of the tyrants while this slave girl is falsely accused of theft and illegal sexual intercourse."

ہم سے مسلم بن ابراہیم نے بیان کیا ، کہا ہم سے جریربن حازم نے بیان کیا ، ان سے محمد بن سرین نے اور ان سے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا گود میں تین بچوں کے سوا اور کسی نے بات نہیں کی ۔ اول عیسیٰ علیہ السلام ( دوسرے کا واقعہ یہ ہے کہ ) بنی اسرائیل میں ایک بزرگ تھے ، نام جریج تھا ۔ وہ نماز پڑھ رہے تھے کہ ان کی ماں نے انہیں پکارا ۔ انہوں نے ۔ ( اپنے دل میں ) کہا کہ میں والدہ کا جواب دوں یا نماز پڑھتا رہوں ؟ اس پر ان کی والدہ نے ( غصہ ہو کر ) بدعا کی ، اے اللہ ! اس وقت تک اسے موت نہ آئے جب تک یہ زانیہ عورتوں کا منہ نہ دیکھ لے ۔ جریج اپنے عبادت خانے میں رہا کرتے تھے ۔ ایک مرتبہ ان کے سامنے ایک فاحشہ عورت آئی اور ان سے بدکاری چاہی لیکن انہوں نے ( اس کی خواہش پوری کرنے سے ) انکار کیا ۔ پھر ایک چرواہے کے پاس آئی اور اسے اپنے اوپر قابو دے دیا اس سے ایک بچہ پیدا ہوا ۔ اور اس نے ان پر یہ تہمت دھری کہ یہ جریج کا بچہ ہے ۔ ان کی قوم کے لوگ آئے اور ان کا عبادت خانہ توڑ دیا ، انہیں نیچے اتار کر لائے اور انہیں گالیاں دیں ۔ پھر انہوں نے وضو کر کے نماز پڑھی ، اس کے بعد بچے کے پاس آئے اور اس سے پوچھا کہ تیرا باپ کون ہے ؟ بچہ ( اللہ کے حکم سے ) بول پڑا کہ چرواہا ہے اس پر ( ان کی قوم شرمندہ ہوئی اور ) کہا ہم آپ کا عبادت خانہ سونے کا بنائیں گے ۔ لیکن انہوں نے کہا ہرگز نہیں ، مٹی ہی کا بنے گا ( تیسرا واقعہ ) اور ایک بنی اسرائیل کی عورت تھی ، اپنے بچے کو دودھ پلا رہی تھی ۔ قریب سے ایک سوار نہایت عزت والا اور خوش پوش گزرا ، اس عورت نے دعا کی ، اے اللہ ! میرے بچے کو بھی اسی جیسا بنا دے لیکن بچہ ( اللہ کے حکم سے ) بول پڑا کہ اے اللہ ! مجھے اس جیسا نہ بنانا ۔ پھر اس کے سینے سے لگ کر دودھ پینے لگا ۔ ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ جیسے میں اس وقت بھی دیکھ رہا ہوں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنی انگلی چوس رہے ہیں ( بچے کے دودھ پینے لگنے کی کیفیت بتلاتے وقت ) پھر ایک باندی اس کے قریب سے لے جائی گئی ( جسے اس کے مالک مار رہے تھے ) تو اس عورت نے دعا کی کہ اے اللہ ! میرے بچے کو اس جیسا نہ بنانا ۔ بچے نے پھر اس کا پستان چھوڑ دیا اور کہا کہ اے اللہ ! مجھے اسی جیسا بنا دے ۔ اس عورت نے پوچھا ۔ ایسا تو کیوں کہہ رہا ہے ؟ بچے نے کہا کہ وہ سوار ظالموں میں سے ایک ظالم شخص تھا اور اس باندی سے لوگ کہہ رہے تھے کہ تم نے چوری کی اور زنا کیا حالانکہ اس نے کچھ بھی نہیں کیا تھا ۔

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ لَمْ يَتَكَلَّمْ فِي الْمَهْدِ إِلاَّ ثَلاَثَةٌ عِيسَى، وَكَانَ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ جُرَيْجٌ، كَانَ يُصَلِّي، فَجَاءَتْهُ أُمُّهُ فَدَعَتْهُ، فَقَالَ أُجِيبُهَا أَوْ أُصَلِّي‏.‏ فَقَالَتِ اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تُمِتْهُ حَتَّى تُرِيَهُ وُجُوهَ الْمُومِسَاتِ‏.‏ وَكَانَ جُرَيْجٌ فِي صَوْمَعَتِهِ، فَتَعَرَّضَتْ لَهُ امْرَأَةٌ وَكَلَّمَتْهُ فَأَبَى، فَأَتَتْ رَاعِيًا، فَأَمْكَنَتْهُ مِنْ نَفْسِهَا فَوَلَدَتْ غُلاَمًا، فَقَالَتْ مِنْ جُرَيْجٍ‏.‏ فَأَتَوْهُ فَكَسَرُوا صَوْمَعَتَهُ، وَأَنْزَلُوهُ وَسَبُّوهُ، فَتَوَضَّأَ وَصَلَّى ثُمَّ أَتَى الْغُلاَمَ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَبُوكَ يَا غُلاَمُ قَالَ الرَّاعِي‏.‏ قَالُوا نَبْنِي صَوْمَعَتَكَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ‏.‏ قَالَ لاَ إِلاَّ مِنْ طِينٍ‏.‏ وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَةٌ تُرْضِعُ ابْنًا لَهَا مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، فَمَرَّ بِهَا رَجُلٌ رَاكِبٌ ذُو شَارَةٍ، فَقَالَتِ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلِ ابْنِي مِثْلَهُ‏.‏ فَتَرَكَ ثَدْيَهَا، وَأَقْبَلَ عَلَى الرَّاكِبِ فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَجْعَلْنِي مِثْلَهُ‏.‏ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى ثَدْيِهَا يَمَصُّهُ ـ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَمَصُّ إِصْبَعَهُ ـ ثُمَّ مُرَّ بِأَمَةٍ فَقَالَتِ اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَجْعَلِ ابْنِي مِثْلَ هَذِهِ‏.‏ فَتَرَكَ ثَدْيَهَا فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِثْلَهَا‏.‏ فَقَالَتْ لِمَ ذَاكَ فَقَالَ الرَّاكِبُ جَبَّارٌ مِنَ الْجَبَابِرَةِ، وَهَذِهِ الأَمَةُ يَقُولُونَ سَرَقْتِ زَنَيْتِ‏.‏ وَلَمْ تَفْعَلْ ‏"‏‏.

It was narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allaah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, said:

«No one spoke in the cradle but three (persons): ‘Eesa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary), the second one was the companion of Jurayj; the pious worshipper. Jurayj took a secluded hermitage for worship and confined himself in it. His mother came to him as he was busy in prayer, and she called, 'O Jurayj!' He said, 'O My Lord, my mother (is calling me) and (I am offering) my prayer (what shall I do)?.' He continued with the prayer. She returned and came the following day and he was (still) busy in prayer. She called, 'O Jurayj!' He said, 'My Lord, my mother (is calling me) and (I am offering) my prayer (what shall I do)?', and he continued with the prayer, and she returned. Then the next day she came again while he was busy in prayer, and called, 'O Jurayj!' He said, 'My Lord, my mother (is calling me) and (I am offering) my prayer (what shall I do)?' and he continued with the prayer. She said, 'O Allaah! Do not let him die until he sees the faces of prostitutes.'

The story of Jurayj and that of his meditation and prayer spread among the children of Israel. There was a prostitute who was beauty personified. She said (to the people), "If you like, I can lure him into evil." She presented herself to him but he paid no heed (to her). She came to a shepherd who lived near the hermitage and she offered herself to him. He (the shepherd) had sexual intercourse with her and she became pregnant. When she gave birth to a baby she said, 'This baby is from Jurayj.' So they came and asked Jurayj to leave and they demolished the hermitage and began to beat him. He asked them what was the matter. They said, 'You committed fornication with this prostitute and she gave birth to a baby from you.' He said, 'Where is the baby?' They brought him (the baby) and then he said, 'Just leave me so that I should perform prayer.'

He performed prayer and when he finished, he struck the baby’s stomach with his finger, and asked him, 'O boy, who is your father?' The baby answered, 'He is the shepherd. So, the people turned towards Jurayj, kissed him and touched him (seeking blessings), and said, 'We are ready to construct your hermitage with gold.' He said, 'No, just rebuild it with mud as it was,' and so they did.»

The Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, continued:

«Then, there was a baby whose mother was suckling him when a person dressed in a fine garment came riding on a priceless animal. His mother said, 'O Allaah, make my child like this one.' He (the baby) left his mother’s breast, looked at the rider and said, 'O Allaah, Do not make me like him.' He then returned to the breast and resumed sucking.» He (i.e. Abu Hurairah) said, 'It is as though I can see the Messenger of Allaah, peace and blessing be upon him, illustrating the scene of his sucking milk with his forefinger in his mouth and sucking that.

The Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, continued:

«It so happened that a slave girl passed by them who was being beaten and the people behind her were saying, 'You committed fornication and theft.' She was saying, 'Sufficient for me is Allaah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs', and his mother said, 'O Allaah, Do not make my child like her.' He left the breast, looked at her, and said, 'O Allaah! make me like her.' This was followed by a conversation between the mother and child. She said, 'A good-looking man happened to pass by, and I said: O Allaah, make my child like him, and you said: O Allaah, do not make me like him, and there passed a girl and the people were beating her, and saying: You committed fornication and theft, and I said: O Allaah, do not make my child like her, and you said: O Allaah, make me like her.' The infant said, 'That man was a tyrant, and I said: O Allaah, do not make me like him; and they were saying about the girl: 'You committed fornication', whereas in fact, she had not committed that and they were saying: 'You have committed theft, whereas she had not committed theft', so I said: O Allaah, make me like her» (1

Amongst the lessons drawn from the above-mentioned Hadeeth:

1- The Hadeeth shows the importance of observing dutifulness to one's parents, confirms the rights of the mother and that her Du‘aa' (i.e. supplications) is surely answered.

2- If one has many different matters, one should start with the most important of them.

3- Resorting in difficult situations should be to Allaah The Almighty alone away from anyone else.

4- Allaah The Almighty mostly makes way outs for His Awliyaa' at the times of hardships. Allaah The Almighty Says:

{وَمَن يَتَّقِ اللَّـهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُ مَخْرَ‌جًا}

'Translation' {And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out.} [At-Talaq: 2] Sometimes, He The Exalted may afflict them with some hardships to increase their rewards and refine their characters and thus it will imply all good for them as what happened to the woman.

5- Recommendation of performing ablution and prayer at the times of hardships and difficulties.

6- This Hadeeth also indicates that ablution was known in the religion of the previous nations. It was proved in this Hadeeth, i.e. the narration reported by Al-Bukhaari, may Allaah have mercy upon him, that He (i.e. Jurayj) performed Ablution and prayer.

7- This Hadeeth proves the Karaamaat (i.e. supernatural abilities or events) of the Awliyaa'(2). It is the belief of Ahl As-Sunnah(3) unlike Al-Mu‘tazilah(4).

8- It points out that Karaamaat can be supernatural in all different ways while some scholars rejected this idea and said that it only related to answering Du‘aa' (i.e. supplication) and the like. This is really wrong and a denial for the witnessed fact. The correct opinion is that it may occur even in a wider scope than that. (5).

9- This Hadeeth also indicates that humans by nature prefer their children to themselves with all goodness for the woman asked goodness to her child and be guarded against evil while she asked nothing for herself. (6).

(4) A sect founded by Waasil Ibn ‘Ttaa’. Its followers believe that man has free-will and that the Noble Quran is created and not the direct speech of Allaah. (Translator).
